Diabetes is one of the rapidly growing global diseases. Diabetes is the major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart issues, stroke, and lower limb 
amputation. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic caused by the inability of the pancreas to produce enough insulin for the body or when the body fails to use insulin properly. 
Insulin is the hormone responsible for regulating the body's blood sugar level. If insulin is insufficient or is not used effectively blood sugar increases. This condition is called hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia commonly occurs with uncontrolled diabetes and can lead to damage to the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and blood vessels. Acute severe disruption of the blood sugar level can be fatal.

Type 1:

Type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin-dependent or childhood-onset diabetes it is a condition wherein there is inadequate insulin produced in the body.

Type 2:

Type 2 diabetes on the other hand is also called non-insulin-dependent or adult-onset diabetes this type of diabetes is brought by the body's failure to use insulin effectively.

Type 3:

Gestational diabetes is characterized by hyperglycemia that occurred initially during pregnancy.

The cause of type 1 diabetes can be abnormal genes in the body and there is no available information about the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
On the other hand, is the product of an unhealthy lifestyle, and is related to excessive body weight, unhealthy food selection, and prolonged inactivity the cause of gestational diabetes is linked to the effect of fluctuating hormones of pregnancy on the body.

1. Green Leafy Vegetables


Green leafy vegetables are low in calories and are low in carbohydrates hence. They keep blood sugar levels in balance. They are rich in fiber hence they help with the absorption of sugar in the right face. Diabetic patients must consume spinach, fenugreek leaves, and drumstick leaves in their regular meals. Among all green leafy vegetables, drumstick leaves have proven to really reduce diabetes. They are rich in ascorbic acid which leads to an increase the insulin secretion in our body and so reduces the sugar level.

2. Whole Grains Substituting


Refined grain by whole grain can really help reduce diabetes. Whole grains have lots of fiber and nutrients compared to refined grains. Again, whole grains have a lesser glycemic index, thus comparatively having less impact on blood sugar levels.

·     Eating five to six grains of kalonji with one tsp of celery keeps the sugar level in check. Diabetic patients must eat five to six kalonji seeds after every meal.
